Mortgage Pre-Qualification are usually based on basic buyer’s information, no documents needed to be provided and is very easy to obtain however; while pre-qualification is an easy first step, it typically won’t carry as much power as a pre-approval because the lender hasn’t verified your information.
Getting preapproved is an important step that shows you’re serious about buying a home, but it requires providing of documentations needed to verify the basic information you provided for the Pre-qualifications.
